Lets talk about being warm and cozy in a baby sleeping bag!
As an infant and toddler sleep consultant, as well as a mother of 2, I am always trying new products from many different companies but this one has REALLY stood out to me; the Woolino baby sleeping bag.
These sleeping bags are made from 100% merino wool. Now I know that many parents are thinking “isn’t wool too hot?” NO! Merino wool is an incredible material for everyone to wear. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Merino wool is naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-static. It disinfects itself in fresh air and is naturally resistant to odors.
Babies don’t have to ability to regulate their body temperature, so it’s great to know that at night your little one is going into something to help keep them comfortable. Merino wool creates a micro-climate around your baby, which maintains a consistent temperature for them. It has the ability to absorb water away from your baby’s skin and release it into the atmosphere during the summer. In winter, it will trap and circulate warm air, keeping your baby warm. Merino wool is also hypoallergenic which is perfect for my little mans skin, who happens to have eczema. This sleeping bag is so soft to the touch that you can’t help but snuggle right into it.
We know the needs for fire resistant sleep wear, which makes you wonder what chemicals are added to their jammies to make them fire resistant? Well, merino wool naturally carries those qualities thanks to its amino acid structure. In fact, merino wool will repel fire and is self-extinguishing, helping to keep your baby safe in the event of a fire.
I decided to go with their 4-season sleeping bag, 2 months – 2 years. Once I decided on a pattern and ordered one, it was at my door in 2 days! I went with the gray stars pattern. It came in great packaging, all of which is recyclable. Their packaging has great information on it to educate their consumers about the product and about merino wool.
I opened the box and immediately fell IN LOVE!! Seriously, this material is incredible! (I’m secretly hoping for an adult sized blanket!). It’s soft, its silky, its perfect for my baby’s skin. After giving it a good look there are five awesome key aspects that I think need to be emphasized: 1. The seat belt slots. This is a selling feature for me; one which isn’t in all sleeping bags or sacs. I love this because it allows you to go from the stroller or bouncer right into their crib without missing any sleep time in between. You can enjoy those evening walks and if your child happens to fall asleep you can transfer them right to their crib. 2. Silky soft merino wool. Silky. Soft. Merino. Wool. 3. The double shoulder snaps. This is perfect for easy dressing. 4. Its tagless; nothing to irritate my little one’s skin. 5. Underarm snaps. This is very important to note. This allows this particular sleeping bag to fit your child from 2 months to 2 years old… No, that is NOT a typo. The price point for this sleeping bag is perfect. With other sleeping bags you have to buy multiple ones for sizes and togs. This sleeping bag is one which is perfect from infant to toddler and all weather conditions – including our Canadian winters.
Upon receiving my sleeping bag for my little man, I had to tell Woolino how AMAZING this sleeping bag was. The owners of Woolino were very welcoming, and after spending a while on the phone with them, we formed a great partnership that I’m very excited about!
If you don’t already have a Woolino sleeping bag, I highly recommend you order one today. You won’t regret it and your little one with love it! Look how happy my little guy is to receive his! They have some great prints and colours to suit any child. It truly is the year round sleeping bag for your little one.
